Children’s Hearings

We are often instructed by parents and/or children who have attended or are due to attend a Children’s Panel/Children’s Hearing in relation to matters such as allegations against parents accused of caring properly for their children, allegation regarding the child having committed an offence, allegation regarding the child failing to attend school without reasonable excuse.

You may be asked to participate in a virtual hearing and we can assist you prepare for this hearing and represent you at the hearing.

If such allegations are denied at a Children’s Hearing or Children’s Panel then the case requires to be referred to the Sheriff Court for Proof. We can offer representation at both the court and at the Children’s Hearing – sometimes referred to as the Panel.

We can provide advice and representation in these areas and are registered with the Scottish Legal Aid Board and can apply for legal aid if you are eligible.
